Doctor's Cat is the musical outlet of Aldo Martinelli and Fabrizio Gatto, one of the finer products of the Italian disco wave of the early eighties. Released in 1983, 'Feel the Drive' was a hit throughout Europe and also crossed the Atlantic and was famously played by DJs in Chicago during the era where Italo and early house were bleeding into one another on the same dance floors. Vocalist Simona Zanini, who co-wrote several of the group's tracks, provides the female voice that remains its most immediately recognisable element. Decades on it still sits comfortably in a modern mix with retro future melodies and loveable hardware textures helping define the rugged bass and chugging drums.
