London-based producer Danny Kane has worked with the likes of Robert Owens, Sonny Fodera and Natasha Kitty Katt over the past 15 years or so, but this record harks back to an earlier phase of his career. Back in the 90s he was making street soul and UK garage under the name D'Swing - and here, uber-hip Brooklyn label Razor-N-Tape bring us two long-lost recordings from those early sessions, now reworked as sparkling contemporary disco nuggets. Mic duties are taken care of by Lorna Harris, who's known for her work with Goldie and Nomad, and if you like your disco on the sumptuous and authentically 70s- sounding side, complete with strings, handclaps and harmonised vocals, you'll struggle to do better this week.
