The 1995 original on Cheeky Records barely registered,and it was only Faithless' 1996 re-release that hit number three, lodging itself permanently in the British club culture columbarium. 'Insomnia''s has very many reference points to sink your teeth into, be it Maxi Jazz's opening monologue, the riff lifted from an Ennio Morricone library piece, and the stimulant, narcoleptic pizzicato baked into the drop. Armand Van Helden's European Vacation Mix notably became the DJ standard; its presence here is more useful than ceremonial. Four mixes total, orange vinyl, die-cut replica Cheeky Records house bag. Whether you need this reissue depends on whether you already have the original, which you probably do, but also whether it's in good enough shape, which it probably isn't.
