Vaguely masochistic title aside, Fancy's 'Slice Me Nice' is an unbelievably fashionable Italo disco beater now out again through ZYX Music, released almost 40 years on. Responding to a brief urging him to write "a funny, crazy, power-disco-nonsense story", the man personally known as Todd Canedy laid down a blowout-haired, one-off masterpiece here. It's got stylish semitonal melodic motion, classic drum machine claps and repeats, and vocals so sensuous they could have been sung by ghosts under our bedsheets.
