If you're wondering who WOZ is, it's a new hush-hush remix alias of NYC producer and keyboardist Scott Wozniak, an artist who has been offering up killer cuts for well over 30 years. On this fresh series, he showcases some previously unheard - and unofficial - revisions of genuinely classic cuts. On side A's '1999', he encases a vintage Prince vocal in deliciously dreamy chords, restless classic house style piano stabs, spacey synths, extended New Power Generation raps, warming bass and lightly Latin-tinged house grooves. Over on the flip, he gives Angie Stone's 'I Wish I Didn't Miss You' a sun-soaked soulful house treatment with predictably impressive results. Via languid bass guitar, gorgeous pianos, 80s jazz-funk synth flourishes and life-affirming chords, he recasts the neo-soul gem as a hands-aloft peak-time delight.
